NCQA Certified in Diabetic Care The National Committee for Quatlity Assurance (www.ncqa.org) is a national organization that monitors and publishes the quality of care by physicians, groups, hospitals and universities. Because of his electronic medical records, Dr. Markey can demonstrate his quality data "metrics" - monitored aspects of care to the Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium, which is now known as the Medical Quality Improvement Consortium nationally. De-Indentified data is sent securely over the internet daily to the MQIC which analyzes and compares Dr. Markey's metrics to other physicians, groups, hospitals and universities. Reports can be made from these data for the purpose of demonstrating quaility and deficiencies. These data are then referred to the NCQA. If certain standards are met, then the NCQA certifies a doctor as providing high quality care according national standards. Elected to American College of Physicians Because of his primary training at Emory Medical School and continuing education, as well as his participation in quality improvement programs and education programs, Dr. Markey was elected as a member of the American College of Physicians (A.C.P). This is the national group representing Internal Medicine physicians. OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS Handicapped Accessible |
